I have been an independent music teacher in Cardiff since 2006, teaching piano, vocals, music theory and music technology to hundreds of people.

 I have a 100% ABRSM practical exam pass rate over 18 years of teaching. Most of my students pass with merit or above. My students have won music scholarships to The Purcell School and Howell’s School for Girls and placements at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. I am a member of the Independent Society of Musicians.

I am a very patient teacher. I teach a hybrid method that is individually tailored to the needs of the student: either by ear or with sheet music. I was classically-trained by Russian-method teachers from the age of 6. I incorporate multiple teaching methods into my practice. I also play improvised jazz, blues and popular styles.

I embrace new technology - I allow students to record the lessons on their phones, I perform super slow motion versions of pieces for students to film. I advise students which online resources and apps are good for music learning. I also teach many students around the UK and abroad online using Google Meet and my custom-made studio rig.

I also have many excellent students who do not take exams but are learning for pure joy. I am very good at helping students with performance anxiety. I get the best music out of every student, no matter what your goals are.
